On 5th October 1921, the Rotary Club of Walsall was founded.
To Celebrate the centenary the following challeng was set
Walsall Rotary Virtually to Chicago, from 18 June 2021 to 24 September 2021
4000 miles to raise £4000 – Centenary Challenge of 4000 miles to raise funds for Walsall Heart Care and End Polio Now
The final funds raised is £7,860 against an original target of £4000.
The final figure for miles is 17292 which a fantastic achievement since we had a target of only 4000 when we started.
A MASSIVE WELL DONE TO ALL THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED AND SUPPORTED THIS WORTHY CAUSE!!!
On the 5th Otober 2021, to celebrate our 100th anniversary of the formation on of the Rotary Club of Walsall, we got together to install bench and plant a tree in the Walsalls Arboreatum Park.
The tree a Cersis Candensis Forest Pansy originates from Eastern North America, a small unusual tree having small magenta pink flowers which emerge in clusters on bare stems in the spring before the leaves ,sometimes on the trunk itself.
